Care Guide Polyester
'POLYESTER IS A SYNTHETIC MATERIAL, OFTEN USED IN BLENDED FABRICS DUE TO ITS BENEFICIAL TECHNICAL PROPERTIES.'
Polyester is a synthetic fabric that is usually derived from petroleum. It has become one of the world’s most popular textiles, and it is used in thousands of consumer and industrial applications. Polyester fibres are often blended with natural fibres to combine their properties in one textile. For example, cotton-polyester blends can be durable, wrinkle- and tear-resistant and reduce shrinking issues.
Our recycled polyester is made from recycled PET bottles or textile waste. Its production needs less energy, less CO2 emissions and less water than virgin polyester. This saves valuable natural resources and reduces the pressure on our planet. We never compromise on quality and only use recycled polyester that guarantees the same fibre strength and technical features as virgin polyester. Recycled polyester still sheds microfibres while washing - this is why we recommend using a GuppyFriend washbag to prevent microplastics getting into the environment.
