Cotton is a natural fibre derived from the boll of the cotton plant. We always give preference to Organic Cotton: it is grown using eco-friendly techniques such as crop rotation, zero toxic pesticides & synthetic chemicals and no genetically modified seeds. This means that it enhances biodiversity and protects the health of farmers handling the plants, soils and ecosystems. Organic cotton farmers get access to a market with an increasing demand, allowing them to get better prices. For the customer, organic cotton is breathable, easy to care for and comfortable to wear.

CARE

Check your label for specific instructions. We recommend avoiding fabric softeners, as it can dull the finish.

Cotton can usually be washed by machine. While cotton fabrics can, in general, endure high temperatures, we still recommend washing at 30° Celsius to prevent shrinking and fading. This is also the most eco-friendly way as less energy is needed.

It is best to wash cotton inside out.

Wash delicate garments in a laundry bag to avoid tearing and friction.

Treat stains with a little stain remover before washing. For darker garments, test the stain remover on the inside seam to ensure that it does not affect the colour.

Choose to air-dry your cotton pieces since the high temperatures in the tumble dryer can cause shrinking. Air drying also saves energy and is more eco-friendly.

Iron on low heat while the fabric is still a little damp.

Special note on Corduroy: we recommend washing corduroy inside out. You should avoid ironing as not to crush the ribbed nap. Instead, you can choose to steam your garment.

Special note on Denim: always wash denim inside out, otherwise it will bleed out and lose its colourfastness. Jeans should be washed as little as possible and never tumble dried as they can shrink. Powder detergent can cause stains on dark denim.
